December tends to be a popular time of year for volunteering and giving back to your community. At The Yurconic Agency, we echo these feelings around the holiday season, but also continue our outreach year-round. Let’s take a look at the ways we continue to engage with our community.

In-Office Drives

If you’ve ever stopped by one of our thirteen locations, you may have come across drop boxes in our lobbies for various charity organizations. Most recently, we’ve partnered with both Toys for Tots and the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank to collect donations around the Lehigh Valley. We encourage our employees and well as customers to stop in and donate a new, unwrapped toy for those who are not as fortunate during the holiday season. For the food bank, non-perishable and personal care items are greatly appreciated. In both situations, a financial donation can be accepted as well. We then work with local volunteers from these organizations to get the items to those in need. 

On-Location Volunteering

The Yurconic Agency staff also dedicates their time to volunteering in person, and on location. Prior to Thanksgiving, teams of volunteers spread out to various Redner’s Warehouse Markets across the Lehigh Valley to collect food and personal care item donations for the Allentown Rescue Mission which works on rehabilitating and rescuing homeless men. Our staff was able to collect many in-demand items for this non-profit thanks to help from the community.

Paid Community Service

At Yurconic, our staff is rewarded for volunteering their time and efforts with our partnered organizations. Each employee receives 8 hours of paid community service a year, making it a worthwhile experience all around. This time can be used year-round, not just in December, to continue to encourage our staff to give back to the community that is so important to us.

The holiday spirit is alive and well at The Yurconic Agency, and we hope you consider joining us in our quest to make our community a better place by participating in our efforts.
